How to Turn on Java Script

If you currently have Java Script disabled in your browser you might not be able to see all web pages as they were intended. Some parts or functions on them are not working. You might even just get a message like "This website requires Java Script”. So what is Java Script? It gives some extended possibilities for the developer of the web page. For example he can take input for you, like ask you name, and the use it in the content of the page. But it can also be used as a tool to place virus on your PC or do other unwanted things to your PC. Two things to think about before enabling Java Script is that you should always use an updated version of your browser.

As hackers find and use loopholes in the browser, the software developers make fixes to the problems and send them out as upgrades. The other thing is if it is a website you trust. Is it a legit firm or could it be a cover for hackers? If you are using a PC in an office environment, you should first check with your system administrator. It may be company policy not to allow scripts.If you is using Fire fox, first click on Tools in the menu and then Options. When you see the Options window, click on the Content tab. The check-box labeled "Enable Java Script" should be checked. If you want you can also click on "Advanced..." to control what the scripts are allowed to do. All check-boxes can be cleared here and Java Script is still able to run.

 If you are using Internet Explorer, first click on Tools in the menu bar then select “Internet Options". On the options window select the "Security" tab and click on the "Internet" zone. Now you can either use the default settings by clicking "Default Level" or you can use "Custom Level". Go down to the "Scripting" section and enable "Active-scripting”. If it is still not working, you should be aware that you might have other programs, such as anti virus, which can also block Java Script. After you have seen the page you wanted to see using Java Script, you may consider if you want to disable it again. To do that is similar to enabling it, you just have to remove the check marks from the boxes you checked.
